Expectations of  Your Visit

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE IN THE APPOINTMENT?

All first-time clients at Natural Axis will receive a free consultation to discuss their concerns and questions.
A movement assessment will take place where the practitioner will begin to understand how your body moves actively (with you moving) and passively (with the practitioner moving your body). It will continue with a first treatment based on your specific needs. This will allow the patient and practitioner to see the next step in the treatment plan and frequency & duration of visits in the plan.

HOW LONG WILL MY VISIT LAST?

Every treatment is based on the body's state, and that is an individual response. Depending on how your body responds to treatment, it may mean some treatments are less or more than the previous session. All treatments given are beneficial and work towards the goal of helping your body do its own healing work.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?

It is necessary to wear loose-fitted clothing that can stretch like active wear that covers the thighs and upper chest to allow for the all range of motion without discomfort. We kindly ask IF you wear shorts that they are not too baggy and cover your thighs. It is reccomended to wear socks, remove any bulky jewelry or belts, and tie back your hair (if it is longer than shoulder length).

CAN I RECEIVE CARE IF I HAVE MOBILITY AIDS?
(Walkers, wheelchairs, crutches etc)

We accept all people who wish to receive treatment and are medically cleared for manual therapy by their medical physician. Our location has wheelchair access from the front entrance, off the street near the metered parking.  Your initial appointment will discuss how we proceed with treatment for your body.
If you are booking in BINBROOK or SMITHVILLE, PLEASE BE ADVISED THESE LOCATIONS ARE NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE AND HAVE STAIRS up to the treatment room.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept all credits cards, e-transfers and cash at the appointment.
Payment is not accesible online.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE COVERAGE?

We do!  We do not direct bill, however, we can provide a receipt with the licence number for your insurance coverage needs. Please let us know in advance, and we can prepare the receipt for you.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE, CANCEL OR I MISS AN APPOINTMENT?

We respect both our time and yours; a missed appointment will incur a charge of the full fee of the appointment. As we understand, serious emergencies happen, and our policies explain that a missed appointment will be under review.
Continually occurring incidents will incur a fee, and booking a follow-up appointment may require a credit card on file for treatment to be confirmed.
We understand life can get chaotic, and we appreciate you rescheduling to allow others in need to book in.
Please allow 24 hours to reschedule, so as not to incur a charge of 50% of the appointment fee. You can do so online through the booking portal in Jane or via the email of your appointment confirmation.

We appreciate your consideration.

WHERE CAN I PARK AND ENTER FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

BINBROOK @ VITALITY
Parking is available in front of the building. The front clinic door will be open for you to enter 5 minutes before your appointment. The practitioner will meet you in the lobby to welcome you for treatment.

SMITHVILLE @VITALITY
Parking is available in the rear of the building. The front clinic door will be open for you to enter 5 minutes before your appointment. The practitioner will meet you in the lobby to welcome you for treatment.

HAMILTON @ UNITED FITNESS AND REHAB

Street parking is available from the front entrance, which is metered.  We share access with many community members in our building, and free parking is available in the back parking lot; however, it is on a first-come basis. Enter from either exit and follow the hallway on the main floor to the United Fitness and Rehab entrance. Please ring the doorbell to enter the gym and have a seat in the chairs located to the left of the clinic door.

Post Treatment Care

After your treatment, we suggest gentle and mindful movement that helps the body's tissues to work together and with ease.

We advise you to avoid heavy loading and overstretching, such as weightlifting and yoga, directly after treatment.

Here are three great ways to allow the body to integrate the changes in your tissues and enjoy activity post-treatment!

People walking in forest

Walking

A natural rhythmic way the body knows how to move and helps the body remove lymphatic fluid and promote circulation for tissue repair.  Calming and invigorating.

Swimming Together

Swimming

A gentle, lightweight way to relax the body and move joints to aid with the removal of inflammation without placing more stress upon them. Floating can also allow the spine to experience load-free stress from daily gravitational forces.

Happy Asian kids riding bike in a wood

Biking

Helps with cardiovascular health and moves blood flow throughout the body.  A leisure ride can reduce stress levels and improve respiration with low impact on joints.
